For the first time, we’re the proud official sponsor of lastminute.com Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2016. And today, we’re happy to announce who caught the judges eye at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.

The hard-working judges watched over 1400 visits shows, and hand-picked the best talent.

Previous winners of this award read like a who’s who of comedy – Frank Skinner, Sean Hughes, Lee Evans and Al Murray to name a few – so this year’s nominees are in very good company.

Here are the nominations for the lastminute.com Best Comedy Show

This international list has four UK artists, three Australians and a Dubliner hoping to take home the coveted comedy trophy.

“2016 reflects the breadth and quality of comedy at the Edinburgh Fringe with eight nominations for Best Comedy Show for the second year running.
Four outstanding stand-ups, a female comic performing in character as Dave, a novel-writing puppet, a wonderful story teller and a comic who is as moving as he is funny.”

– Nica Burns, producer of the lastminute.com Edinburgh Comedy Awards
